About Us
K9 Retreat Center is owned by Gina. Gina's passion for dogs extends beyond no other which inspired her to embark on a new journey to create a safe and happy environment for dogs to play and socialise. Gina started by providing doggy holidays in her home, creating a home from home environment for each dog to provide maximum comfort. In 2022 Gina opened her first doggy daycare facility which welcomed a variety of breeds and dogs with different confidence levels. She has taken the time to understand each dog and gain their trust in order for them to enjoy their daycare experience. In 2024, Gina has expanded to bigger unit, where there are four different rooms to allow dogs to be placed appropriately based on their confidence.
Gina continues to expand her knowledge on dogs and their behaviours - you can never know too much!
The team is family based. Gina has a passion for all breeds and shares this with her team and volunteers.

If you were to any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a Kangal as I am stubborn for no reason but when I let you in, I love until the end and I am loyal.

What is your favourite thing about the job?
It is the best job ever getting to know all the dogs, a great team with lots of fun.
If you were to any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a mixed breed - a Jack of all trades, master of none.
What is your favourite thing about the job?
I love gaining the trust with all the dogs.
If you were to any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a mix between a Bulldog and Mastiff because I am a gentle giant but also quite stubborn.

What is your favourite thing about the job?
This job is so rewarding and I love getting to crack the difficult and nervous dogs. Seeing them have so much fun is very heartwarming.
If you were to be any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a Poodle because I can do anything and like to think of myself as a genius.

What is your favourite thing about the job?
I love working with the team and meeting all different types of dog personalities and breeds. It's lots of fun and the best job ever.
If you were to be any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a Giant Schnauzer because they are elegent.

You get to learn about new dogs and their behaviour every day, especially when playing with them.

I would be a Rottweiler because they can be energetic but also a couch potato.

It is like a big family and no one ever judges.

I would be a Yorkshire Terrier - small but feisty.

I love seeing dogs come from being nervous to having the best time at day care.

I would be a Cockapoo with so many personalities but can also bite.

What is your favourite thing about the job?
Everything! If I had my way, I would be here 6 days a week. I love learning and it is very therapeutic.
If you were to be any dog breed, what would you be and why?
I would be a Jack Russell because they are loyal, but can also bite your ankles.
We also fundraise for The Harvest Centre food bank in Brandon. We accept donations of dog and cat food to our unit which is passed over to The Harvest Centre on a weekly basis. Donations are also welcome at Tesco in Brandon. There is also a donation jar in our reception where we accept monetary donations for The Harvest Centre.
